Power Meter to Phone App.

    Hi all,

I am looking at getting a power meter. I am currently using my phone as a cycling computer, so given the cost of power meters, i really dont want the added expense of having to get a dedicated cycling computer. So does anyone know what current power meters will sync to cycling app's like strava on a phone? Almost all online reviews use Garmin's and never really mention it when reviewing power meters!

    Thanks in advance!

dpesnds more on the phone than the power meter. PM's broadcast over either BT or ANT+. samsung's support ant+, iphone does with a dongle i believe but not natively.

seems a bit odd to be looking at a PM if using phone as a computer though, most cyclists serious enough to want a PM would be doing cycles long enough that a phone battery becomes an issue when using as main computer

4iii does Bluetooth as well as some of the power tap ones.

For me I'd be looking for a cycle computer first and power meter second. I'd be afraid of damaging my phone.

PowerTap do good deals on wheels/joule cycle computer from time to time

Cool as i have both. My S5 and my wife's old Iphone 5. Plus i'm due an upgrade next month so will probably be getting a iphone 6

Yeah true, but I forgot to mention i have to replace the crank set as well to 105. I'm on Tiagra at the moment. So Crankset + Cycling computer + power meter is just to much of a stretch at the moment. And would probably cost more than the bike :)

Powertap don't do single sided pedal solutions

    Garmin Vector S
    bePro one sided.
    Stages too.

But really one side PMs are as much use as a phone as a head unit. :)

For phones that support Ant+ its more about the app than the power meter as most PM's use Ant+.

I used ipbike on my phone for a while. Very advanced with data way beyond that on the Edge 500 but the phone screen doesn't like moisture and went mad often enough that I gave up on it.
