Back To Education Scheme

Hey,

My girlfriend left her job of 7 years in September to go back to college. She was told at the time that she wasn't eligible for the back to education scheme as it is only for people who are already on the dole.

I'm wondering if now that she has been out of work since September will she be eligible for the scheme or the dole in general. Thanks.

Has she been on the dole since last September?
