Goof on P21 for FY 2014, can it be rectified after the 30 day appeal?

    Quick one,

In finally getting around to doing my 2015 balancing I've discovered an error with my 2014 where I declared excessive income by a small amount which left me owing a small figure that revenue decided not to collect. I assume they'll remove it from this years refund so for the sake of a few minutes will they entertain a review of a P21 way after the 30 day stated appeals process?

    Thanks,
    ED-E.

If it's under 100, it won't be collected, and it won't be taken out of any future refunds either.

What you can do is, just ask for an amended P21 for 2014, pointing out the error. You don't need to mention an appeal at all

If you are a newbie to P21's you will see this note about appealing

quote If you disagree with this you may appeal it to the Appeal Commissioners by giving notice in writing within 30 days unquote

This is ridiculous as you can always seek an amendment for 4 previous tax years .

The statement should either be removed or else changed to reflect the 4 year rule

Thats good to know, I assumed the balance would be carried forward as its such a simple operation.

I knew you had 4yrs to claim back, so it did seem strange that once you did you were limited to 30 days.

Just before the pair of you responded I noticed that PAYEA still allows edit of past records that have been balanced so I've submitted a delete & balance request to them. Even at peak season my tax office seem to clear stuff pretty fast so hopefully a notice from them soon then I'll do 2015 (very meagre rebate this year as years go).

    Thanks for the help.

Incorrect - This is there to allow you to appeal an assessment if revenue dispute your return (incorrect/false claim etc) and issue an amended P21.

This processed at 1AM, assume they run batch tasks at night.
    Final Result: Balanced 0.00
