Lawn reseed - will it work ?

    Hi

    I Sprayed lawn with roundup & then the next day I spread the lawn seed - it has got lots of rain since. Will the grass seed grow or should I have waited 10 days before spreading it ? Thanks

    You should have waited at least 3 weeks before putting down seed. However, applying seed to already compacted soil will not be that successful. you really need the seed to be inserted into the ground or covered with soil.

    Look closely in 3/4 weeks and see has it sprouted. Realise the weather is cold and germination may be delayed. You will need to bring up a little soil, then scatter, rake lightly and roll/compact.
    Lawn seed does not tiller and thicken over time like grass seed.
