99 Golf locking issue

    Hi lads, I've a problem with the comfort module/central locking.

    The key, once it's twisted left in the driver's door will only lock the driver's door - also, windows will not close if opened.
    However, if I twist it right, all doors will open, hazard lights will flash and all windows will open.
    It all works fine on passenger side (locks/unlocks all doors and closes/opens all windows).

    Any suggestions what the culprit might be here?

    I don't have comfort windows from the remote, so I either have to stick the key in ignition to get the window(s) up or go around the passenger side to do it.

    The car started to do it only recently.
