Radio in 2006 Toyota Corolla not working

Not sure if this is the correct forum, please move if it's not. So long story short had my car parked up for a few months. Battery went dead, so had to jump start it, battery was replaced and got the car repaired. Car's driving fine now however the radio and display are both dead, not a flicker out of them. It's the standard radio that came with the car Toyota Corolla 1.4 petrol

I've changed both the fuse for the cigarette lighter and the dome light and both of this are working fine and were before I changed the fuses.

Any simple fix for this or have i killed the radio when i jump started the car. Thanks for any advice you can give, heading to the uk next week and it'll be a long drive without a radio.

When you say the display isn't working, do you just mean the display on the radio itself?
    Is anything else not working?

Sorry I mean the display on the radio, it usually show station, the time, temp etc. All other dashboard lights and gauges are working.

    Is your cigarette lighter working?

Same happened in my wife's Corolla a few years ago. I got another one from a breakers yard and fitted it. Apparently it's common enough, I don't know if yours was anything to do with you jump starting the car but I doubt it, it possibly would have happened anyway.

There should be plenty of them available in breakers yards, just be sure you get the exact same model especially if you have steering controls.

And your remote locking, lights-on buzzer, interior light etc is presumably working too. TBH it doesn't sounds like it's a fuse.
    Repair or replace I'd say.

So just as I resigned myself to buying a replacement radio the blinking thing came alive today while i was driving, gave me some fright. Anyway seems to be working just fine now.

That's what happened my wife's too. It would work for a day or two then die and come back a day later until it finally died and never came back on again.
