How about the dealer, Barlow isn't it ?

I said to them over a year ago to have a few portable EVSE's handy in case people need them. Obviously they didn't get any more.

I didn't realise you actually have the car ? or did you post it ? can't rem. 30 kwh too.

You'll definitely appreciate the 6.6 kw charger.

It will be interesting to see if they set up Nissan connect for you, they wouldn't set up carwings for me blaming the servers being down which was BS.

Are you close to a fast charger or SCP ? might get your Wife by for the time being, other than that the 30 Kwh charges quiet fast on DC. What's your Wife's commute distance ?

I can't believe they still only have the portable EVSE for the demo car, that's bad form !

Have you got a link to the EVSE you ordered ? mine is 32 amp ready just need to get the adapter to hook up to the laptop to change it to 32 amps and change the RCBO to 32 Amps, that's about it.

I asked on the Irish EV Owners Group if someone can help you out, if someone can I will PM you for your contact details or give you theirs whichever way they want to do it.

thanks re help , much appreciated

I got the Vin and I am currently logged and registered with nissan Connect , and it has connected to the car ! ( and I dont get it till friday )

the commute is 130 km round trip, and there are three FCP near here run. but however she's a bit concerned initially without being able to charge at her work so that why I'm trying to allay her fears with the granny cable. Ive order a unit there the whole EVSE is in the J1772 connector but I wont receive it till next week some time

Its not a show stopper, but dont want to have her worried with the new car

my ABL unit is reprogrammable to 6Kw, and actually has a 40A contactor and 63A RCBO , so its fully ready ,

No link unfortunately, but I had to wait a while . My intention is to actually replace it with my own EVSE , once I have the car and can do some real testing. Mine as I said before does load shedding

I don't think she'd have any issue getting 130 kms in the 30 Kwh on a full charge. I can barely make 135 Kms it in the 24 kwh taking it easy and restricting the heater.

It's good work will allow her use a normal 3 pin socket.

work installed an outdoor wall mounted weather proof 3 pin socket and a received dedicated parking position , so they are being " good"

130km should be easy. I would have between 30km and 40km remaining in my 30kw Leaf after 130km of commuting at this time of year.
That would be with the heat on most of the time and moderate to fast driving.

I know this , but you are not quite getting the point, This is about reassurance.

I was quoted approx 800e to buy a granny cable from Nissan, Ive noticed non OEM granny cables can be bought for 300
and OEM for approx 300 stg from UK

It would appear Nissan are making serious profit at 800e a pop

Not sure if you got sorted. I have a loan of one if you're stuck..

Thanks everyone. I have a loaner from the dealer till Wednesday. If I need another for a few days , I get back to people.

Right now with wind rain and motorway , the new leaf wouldn't do a 130 km round trip on the motorway or may only just. But based on today I'd say not.

I could do 110 kms at 110 kmh in the 24 Kwh even today ? must be really trashing it.

I say with full charge on the 30kw at 100-110 kmh I'm seeing a motorway range of 130 km , to full empty in effect 100 km with a small reserve.

There's no way it would do a 130-140km commute round trip on a motorway with any reserve

    The 30 kw.

100 km effective motorway range ( bad conditions )
140 km effective non motorway range
    30 % reserve

Not great really, I suspect the greater weight of the 30 kw is affecting higher speed performance disproportionally

I'd say GOM IS ABPUT 1.5-1.75 times over estimating range on poor motorway conditions

Last night for example , had 120km indicated range , covers 27km on m11 ( rain some wind , night , heat and AC on ) arrived at destination with 80 km on GOM, speed on cruise control for whole journey: 110 kmph

You'll learn to drive going by the battery % not the GOM, it got it's name because it's been known to be a bit optimistic.

If you drive at a steady pace it's pretty accurate , if you suddenly put the boot down it will take time to adjust.

If I were to drive 120 kph then I'd get about 100 kms range this time of year, maybe a bit less with lots of surface water and high winds. If I drive 100-110 kph I will get 110 kms with a bit in reserve so I'd need to be pretty close to a charge point after this.

An extra 6 kwh should get me an extra 30 kms.
