    I'm moving and looking about.
For me this area would be ideal transport wise but I've rarely been down it. I know of it etc.
Apt is above the line of shops that has Subway right across from Connolly Train and Luas stations/stops
Anyone know the building ? Is it a kip, don't mind the area just if anyone knows the building inside.
Don't know the name of it.
    Thanks for any insight

I'd strongly avoid moving in anywhere you haven't physically seen beforehand, regardless of what anyone tells you.

The location is great in theory, though in reality it could be quite noisy with pubs, people and transport nearby most of the day and night. Earplugs I guess?

And some dodgy people in the area. Could be "funny" things happening down the building at night. Also clearly higher chances than normal to have your place broken into or dodgy people hanging around the building lobby if access control is not beefed-up (friends living not far on Talbot street have had all these issues).

It's fairly close to Foley St. which would put me off

Shouldn't be too much of a worry, I've heard the Irish Water staff keep to themselves.

Amiens street is better as there are people around most of the time. But I wouldn't joke about Foley St - you really don't want to live there.

I've heard, though I struggle to believe a street that central to the city can be so terrible. On appearance, it doesn't seem like a Sheriff Street for example in terms of potential for trouble?

I'd go down Sheriff Street before Foley St :)

I'd friends who worked on it once, they were escorted to their cars etc by security in the evenings.

Friends of mine wanted to buy an apartment on Foley Street (the ones who got broken into on Talbot Street, they have no fear! ;-)). When they went to the garda station related to the break-in they asked about Foley St and were very clearly told "do not buy, we are called for incidents there several times a day and is is much worse that Talbot Street". I've also worked around there and even in day time there are funny things happening. Cars broken into, people fighting and shouting, drug trafficking in the public park off the street, all happening in broad daylight and on a regular basis. My friends came across a guy breaking into a car and he didn't stop when he saw them and me it pretty clear they'd better f**k-off his territory.

I've heard that too. I don't know though, I'd be reluctant to walk down Sheriff Street even with security at times!

Looks like no one actually bothered to read the OPs post.

Pretty much all the comments are about the area

A discussion broke out about the area.

The Op asked about the actual building. Quite unlikely that many people posting here would have any knowledge of that.

Thanks for replies, yeah was more hoping someone knew the building. I'm only going for a viewing today/tomorrow. I know the general area but that Foley st sounds horrific!

Is it immediate to the right of subway? As in walk though some gates, past Subways waste bins and up a flight of steps?

If so then my mates lived there 5 years ago.

One break in (due to open window I believe).

However, the killer was the cold. The place was impossible to heat.

Otherwise it was a grand place for a bunch of single lads. Nice little sun trap in the summer. Felt fairly private.

To the left looking at subway from across the street!

Is this Amiens Square? Am I correct that some are accessed from Amiens Street and some from Talbot Place? What is the parking situation?

I imagine there is a lot of human and vehicular traffic, plus train noise from about 06:00 to past midnight.

That said, I've never had trouble at that spot, other than 5 gardaí hiding behind the wall at the Luas stop until the end of their shift weren't impressed that I was taking photos of the Luas.
