Sounds like you need a pressure switch rather than sensor? You could check out the Danfoss range:

    http://products.danfoss.co.uk/productrange/industrialautomation/pressure-switches/

Just bear in mind with the media (oil) that you need to be sure that all the materials are compatible...
And with switches, a degree of hysteris is to be expected...

Do you have a PLC in use for the process? In that case you could use an actual sensor, and switch more precisely...

How are you for PED compliance - is there much volume? Is this pressure relief function part of the PED strategy?

Festo would be another brand but I've never had to use them for that high level of pressure so dunno if they operate to that range

    thanks

while I am posting I need one other thing, is there a special flexi hose that usually goes onto a pressure gauge, usually good for high pressure but v flexible

you could look at something like this: https://www.leoni-industrial-solutions.com/en/products-services/hoses-tubes/

although I only ever used it for pneumatics...it does say hydrocarbons...

your best bet is to talk to an industrial hose supplier about your system as you'll need clamps and connectors as well. Plus at that pressure you don't want anything going wrong.

    you could ring someone like

Try these guys I ve used their pressure sensors before ,you can select the pressure that the switch cuts in or out at and have either normally open or closed contacts.
