uPVC or aluminium lift and slide patio door

    Hi,

    I'm looking at taking out a south west facing wall and replacing it with a lift & slide door, 3.6m x 2.2m.

    One supplier won't go near a uPVC door of that size saying that it won't support the glass and hence will do aluminium only.

    Another supplies supplied uPVC only and has done larger lift & slide doors without any problems (allegedly).

    Would 3.6m x 2.2m be too large for uPVC with double glazed 6mm glass?

    I have a 5.5 meter long 2.2 high PVC lift and slide door that's tripple glazed that I love. If someone says it can't be done they don't have the experienced or the skills/materials to do it.

    That's music to my ears Dudda. Thanks a million.
    The company that said it couldn't be done is -snip- just in case anyone is going to them for large lift and sliders. They only do up to 2.5m in PVC.
