Transcriptionist?

So basically, I'm not qualified, nor do I have previous work experience in transcribing (typing) but I would like to be a somewhat part-time/free lance transcriptionist?

I can type insanely fast without looking, 100WPM is my average. To most (all!?) of my friends and family I'm the fastest typer they've ever seen! I also pride myself in my spelling and orthography. I looked into it a bit online (I'm not back home 'till May) and found that some people even have degrees and get hired by specific transcription companies and such. I'm not sure if I'd be looking for something like that, I would prefer something more casual, something to do in some of my free time to help pay for my final year at college. Would sticking up flyers/spreading word of mouth etc be a legitimate way to do this on the side or would that be illegal?

How would someone go about doing this? And if what I mentioned is not a valid way of finding work as a transcriptionist - then does anyone know a company or such that might be able to help me? I'm not really sure what I'm asking for, because I'm not really sure what I'm looking for... But I hope you understand what I'd like to take on! Thanks!

There are quite a few errors in English in your message so look at that before you apply for any work.
Pride myself ON my spelling (not in)
Never start a sentence with and
    Never start sentence with but

What type of work are you looking for? Medical/legal etc?

There is nothing wrong with starting a sentence with and or but.

I'm surprised but this appears to be true. It's never too late to learn.

This site seems to have some links that might be useful - http://www.workingathomeireland.com/2008/02/transcription-jobs.html

As an aside I was wondering should you say, oh get you or ooh get you?
