    Hi All,
Is there any wide open area such as a large car park that I can start teaching my wife to drive. She is full insured and just want to give here the basics before she does the lessons with an instructor.

Would really advise against that, give her bad habits and can lead to rows.

    Just get the pro lessons.

Also, you don't say where you are. Wicklow is a big place with lots of car parks.

Best to start with an Instructor from day 1

Reason for this is she can be learning to drive on the route she will be tested on.

The old Atlantic DIY Carpark in Sandyford is always used by learners at the weekends..

It does, but it's still quite busy there even on a Sunday, so probably not really suitable.

I have heard that Woodies in Bray has a large car park too

And it's very badly designed for driving around and parking.
