    Hi,

I completed a renovation on my house last September. Just recently I noticed that there was streaks/stains on the large glass windows and sliders. When I tried to remove them they wouldn't budge. When I mentioned it to my builder (who I still owe a small retention to) he tried various different solutions but without success and thereafter contacted a window cleaning company who informed him they were seeing it a lot lately, was caused by lime coming from plaster finish and it was impossible to remove.

Anyone see this recently and have any advice/tips?

I will be mighty p***ed off if after paying the guts of €30k for windows they are ruined by stains.

Ammonia solution with washing up liquid gets rid of most mineral deposits.

Is it the glass or the frames that are stained?

If its a mineral on the window you will need to use something Acidic.

This is due to the lime being Alkaline, You will be fighting the PH level

Have you tried Vinegar to remove it?
