Christmas hotel packages

Looking for hotels who are open over the Christmas and offer a package deal. Myself and my family went to Hotel Kilkenny last Christmas for 3 night package deal and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We would like to do it again this year but found it hard last year to find many hotels open over Christmas. We are willing to travel anywhere in Ireland. We would go back to hotel kilkenny but would like to try somewhere different.

I know it's a little early to be talking about Christmas and all but I had this booked this time last year as I need 6 rooms in total.

    Tia.

Of course it depends on your budget, but Solis Lough Eske up in Donegal do a fantastic Christmas.

You never know what response you might get if you say you're taking six rooms, they may do a deal. Worth a shot anyway.

Our budget for 3 nights would be €450 pp sharing. This was around the amount we each paid last year. I'll definitely contact them. Thank you.

Hey Scarbouro, Sorry to dig up an old thread. Our family has made a last minute decision to spend christmas outside the home (valid reasons for this). I'm wondering if you had any luck in your search and if you could recommend any options?

    So far we have:

    Radisson in Galway
    Savoy in Limerick
    Hotel Kilkenny

Would be great to hear if you had any others you checked out?

By all accounts, xmas lunch in the Radisson Galway is horrendous, based on some research into the same topic. And avoid Hotel Kilkenny at all costs. Had stayed there many times until violent food poisoning at the hands of their kitchen staff last year. Will never forget it and no apology received for same. Limerick seems to be booked out in general unless you fancy lunch for breakfast. There is availability in Cork but it is getting late in the day as we have found out to our disappointment.

We have booked Radissionblu Sligo for this year. We opted for the business class rooms. It's working out approx €500pps for 3 nights accommodation and meals. I have stayed in this hotel before and have enjoyed it.

The food in Hotel Kilkenny was nothing but excellent last year and it went above and beyond our expectations.

We booked the Savoy in Limerick this weekend. Although the site says the package is no longer available, we called and were able to book. I found this with alot of the hotels. Calling the hotel was always best option. We also got lunch for 2pm on Christmas day too!

Hope your stay in Sligo goes well too Scarbouro :)
