    Hello
I don't know if this is the right forum but these fittings are nigh impossible to remove to replace bulbs . Is there something I can use to unscrew the fitting rather than 2 knives and some skinned fingers .

I have a little sucker type thing that sticks to the surface of the bulb and allows you to twist it. I imagine any sort of sucker (like one of those useless pound shop suction-hook yokes) would do it.

The whole fitting will come down easy enough. It's only held up with a couple of springs. You can then replace the bulb and refit the surround into the opening in the plasterboard.

    This is what you need

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Small-MR16-Black-Sucker-Suction/dp/B008HSPLVU

You can also find them in places like dealz etc.

You don't need one of them. They are for older fittings where the bulb is difficult to access. Your fitting has a larger metal ring which when unscrewed will allow the bulb and connection to fall loose. If this ring is stuck, the simplist solution is to ease out the entire fitting.

Blu tac on the face of the bulb, apply pressure and turn, works a charm
