Probate: house contents - what to declare?

For the CA24 to apply for probate, it asks you to declare house contents... how small should you go ? I am only child so there is no issue about sharing out stuff. I've yet to put in for probate but I've already tried to sell some stuff. I've been trying to sell a some beds for 100-200 euro in cash and they are hard to sell. Should I be declaring them? I guess the probate and tax people expect to see things like the TV... but I doubt I'd get even 100 euro for it... ANd I doubt they'd believe me if I put the contents down as worth next to nothing, though the house itself could sell for a cool 500k.

    Thanks for advice

Most secondhand furniture is worth next to nothing. Just declare anything that can be sold like a reasonably modern TV but if it's more than three years old, it's also probably worth nothing.

Unless you have antiques or artwork I think the taxman is really only interested in the value of the house.
