Hi,just wondered if anyone had any idea how long it takes for a decision on the above. My sister went from Illness Benefit to Invalidity last September after a long going illness, she applied for Partial Capacity start of Jan as her old job are willing to take her back on a phased basis where she would work 2 days out of 5,her wages wouldnt be as much as her Invalidity payment and she has 3 kids. She still hasn't recieved a decision but she's heard many reports of people being refused Partial Capacity. In the event of a refusal would she be eligible for fis or such to bump up her money in the interim, she wants to go back to work but can't afford it on 2 days. Thanks

Hi Sandra06,no shes heard nothing at all since the application in Jan. shes rung and been told her file was out to be asessed and that was about a month ago. She has a fulltime job to go back to but due to her illness and fatigue they want to see how she copes with 2 days. Her reason for applying in first place was that if it was too much she can go back on Invalidity till shes ready. I didn't realise about the fis,ill let her know tmro and she can look into it. I think its too risky to just sign of Invalidity and go back when the Partial Capacity isn't in place but shes got some really negative feedback about it from her OT dept and shes thinking she wont get accepted anyway. Seems like the more you try to do the more your held back. The job shes in held the job as shes worked there over 20yrs,I'd hate to see her loose it now. Thks
