Just sold on my beloved MK5 Gti..

Decided to move away from the hatchback to the estate, i've always wanted to get either the Touring or the Avant, 2l is my limit and i usually do less then 12k a year..

I'm not concerned about boot size..

What would you guys recommend between the 2 models..

    Thanks for reading.. :D

Do you like the fact that the Golf is turbocharged? Would you take power over handling? I think it comes down to that tbh.

I'm not too pushed on the power or performance side, more so comfort and i plan on keeping the next car for a few years..

I think both the models i'd be interested are similar bhp anyway, around the 150'ish.

So that's plenty, last car was remapped and was more of itch that i had to scratch really..

Comfort rules out the 3 series.

A turbocharged car like the A4 would have more midrange shove.
It kind of sounds like the A4 is more what you're after tbh.
Have you considered stuff like the Volvo V50 or V70

Never been a Volvo fan tbh, economy wise do you think the A4 would be better overall then the BMW, comfort aside?

I doubt there's much between them. And as you're doing such small mileage it shouldn't be a major concern.

Mercs do anything for you? Passats?

^^^The radio on that one is worried for some reason. You can haggle with the seller over counselling fees though :pac:

Thanks for the info guys, i did a cartell check and it's had 6 previous owners, but otherwise nothing stood out.

I'll take a look anyway, but otherwise i'll keep looking.. :)

Almost one owner per year. I would be very wary.

Moved out of my comfort zone, and looked at other cars, and found an is250 and after a test drive i was sold, not as quick in lower gears as the gti, but a lot more comfortable and will prob keep for a few years hopefully.. thanks again for the help.
