How much notice to leave flat?

    Hi,

We are having some problems with our landlord.

He is in and out of the house a few times a week and goes into the different flats when he feels like it.

He always has an excuse about something to be looked at or fixed or something, but I dont really belive that.

We feel really creeped out by this and want to leave. We have been there for 14 months, into our second 12 month lease.

How much notice do we have to give and can he keep part/all of our deposit?

    Any feedback welcome

You can't break a lease. you can ask to reassign it though.

However, he's not allowed into your apartment without your permission. If he's entering your apartment without permission, prior notice and without your knowledge, he's trespassing.

Negotiate: you won't complain to the PRTB about his entering without adequate notice, if he will let you break the lease.
