    Looking at this page: http://www.openeir.ie/news/FTTH_Pricing/

What is the difference between "Standalone FTTH Product" and "POTS based FTTH Product". I thought there wasn't any copper wire in the FTTH product? Is it g.fast?

I understand this is the wholesale site, not meant for us plebs.

I think POTS stands for "Plain Old Telephone Service"

    ^ Exactly.

POTS Based you keep the copper line for phone services (works during a power outage).

"Pure" FTTH means phone services are VOIP provided by the retail ISP.

That would seem to be Copper + Fibre rather than Fibre 'based' on POTS.

"POTS Based" .... is a rather confusing term IMO.

You'll probably find Openreach used that terminology, OpenEir love to copy everything they do.
