Did anyone run last years GIR and find that the distance didn't amount to 10km and was actually slightly over? If so, would this be normal for runs of this length?

I don't believe anyone had the opportunity to re measure with a Jones counter so I doubt you'll get an answer!

I mean with the various watches or GPS devices that most people have... Did anyone find that the final distance was more than what was advertised

Why would that matter it's a certified course?

How much over 10k did you find it? Depending on the line you take you could add or loose some distance over 10k particularly if the course has a lot of bends.

What beep beep is saying is that our GPS watches are not 100% accurate & depending on factors such as weaving, running the long way round, or tree coverage you can be out by a significant amount - both over and under.

If the course has been measured with a Jones counter & certified then it's probably correct.
