I found a head , it was "cleaned" naturally and would like to mount it . But it is slightly yellow. how did you bleach the bones?

    Nice head.:)
I would go for a dark wood, walnut, brown oak or even pine with a walnut stain.

If you can't get to a wholesaler most chemists will stock peroxide, you won't need too much for a single skull. Get the skull as clean as possible with nail brush etc and a detergent, rinse it off, then brush on the peroxide, use cotton wool or heavy duty white paper towels soaked in peroxide to cover the bone and leave for a few hours. Remove and rinse well, repeat as needed.
Do not put the bleach on the antler or it will lose its colour. If the antlers are sun bleached use repeated coats of tan / brown boot polish rubbing off between coats. For an authentic look rub the tines and high spots back to white as seen in the natural environment.
There is a chemical you can buy for darkening the antlers but it is a prohibited substance in the ROI and requires a license to purchase.
