i know everybody is different. basically i only have a small job and wondering what i would expect to pay. i will get all supplies myself. i want to change the layout of one room and remove one door and build up where it was and cut out a door out of another wall in the same room. My friend
is a plasterer so he will be able to do that part afterwards.
so how much are builders normally per day?

Get a quote on the job, not on a per day basis. Get a few local quotes, and best use someone you've been recommended.

Surely your plaster friend would be able to give you an idea of this cost if they're working with builders
Small jobs like this are entirely subject to site conditions
    Location
    Type of wall
    Finish of wall
    Is it supporting anything
Who takes care of waste material
depending on wall type either a good carpenter or a block layer would charge about 200€ a day labour ball park figure
You'll find cheaper you'll find dearer there's no real fixed figure
There's a saying " always get someone who is to busy to do your job, there's a reason why they're busy"

the plaster is a friend who lives in another county but would come down for a weekend and do it for me then. problem is that realistically its just a day or twos work for some builder and I don't know would they have much interest in such a small job and charge a lot because of it

So only my opinion but ...
A good tradesman / builder would charge about 250 per day and 120 for their labourer.
A handyman would be probably charge about 150 per day and chance doing the job on their own without a helper... and possibly take a lot longer to do the job.

Find out if its a supporting wall. If it is you need and engineer to spec a beam/lintel overhead.
