The nest is one of the more intelligent controllers. it will only control 2 zones at most water being one of them.
I know electric ireland will install a free one if you sign up to them for two years.

I think that I read somewhere that the contract signed for the "free" Nest, means that you end up paying a lot more for your electricity.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"

Am also looking for a WiFi option. Looking for a wireless thermostat with smartphone remote accessibility. Want to avoid ongoing charges like Climote.

I have one for about a year. I think that it's overrated. The "learning" part isn't very good. I disabled that feature after the heating came on at 2am a few times. I only installed it because I wanted to move the stat to a different room and the wireless connection was handy.

Also, on an odd occasion that a plumber came out to fix/service the boiler and I wasn't at home, it caused a lot of confusion.

Still, it's good to be able to control the heating by phone.

Check out the heatmiser range. The stats can communicate with each other over mesh or wifi and plugging a neohub into a router port allegedly gives access via the web.

I'm just researching these myself at the moment trying to figure out how to setup 2 zones and hot water

Nest in my view is totally unsuitable for good control of water based heating systems. it was designed in the US to essentially replace the standard Honeywell unit that is mainly used for air heating ( and cooling)

fitting a single thermostat to control a whole house of rads is ridiculous in my view, rooms need to be controlled separately using TRVs or more sophisticated room orientated electronics systems.
