Recording from TV?

There is a programme coming up that I would like to record. We have a upc box that can record. My question is, is there a way to tranafer what was recorded from the upc box to the computer? My main question is how to get it to a computer afterwards.

If the UPC box has analog out yes. An analog to USB converter will let you digitise it LINK . If the UPC box has only hdmi it might copy lock the signal. Removing the copy lock is something I won't discus further.
