    Beyond the Black Rainbow 2010

Disturbing, hypersensual and quite daring retro tripped out sci fi/horror/mystery. Quite a remarkable movie, I think it begs to watched several times. So close to being an absolute masterpiece.

Probably the best eerie soundtrack I've heard since Under the Skin, it requires a decent sound system to be truly appreciated.

A mute woman with ESP is held in a mysterious underground part laboratory part cult base by a small cast of deranged scientists. She tries to escape, or is she deliberately released? The plot of this film is outwardly simple but a total mess. The ending is awful but the journey there is quite something. Personally I think the trailer is a misrepresentation of the film as it can't really articulate the overall weirdness and sometimes nonsensical nature of the story, but it's still a great trailer.

I would imagine that this is a either a love it or hate it type show. I loved it. It just oozes style and bizarreness. The ending is not worthy of the trip. It's some trip.

Turn off the lights and pump up the sound.
