data protection

    I am a student in uni and I have a friend(more so an acquaintance ) that recently got a job with aib in one of your branches and i bank with aib, I am livid right now.

    At a party in my apartment about 2 days ago this friend proceeded to say he had looked at all his mates account , and then proceeded to discuss my credit rating, how much i had in my account and how i had taken a loan and my credit card bill.

    I later messaged him via whats app and he proceeded to discuss more details about my account .

    I spoke to my father and he was also annoyed about this and suggested taking legal action and giving the details to our attorney.

    Before i do this id like to get some unbiased views please and thanks.

    Report him to the bank??

    Or close your account and move to another...I'd be fairly annoyed if someone done that to me

    I would imagine it's breach of data protection and agreements they signed on their contract. I have worked places dealing with lets just say high end and not able to discuss it without ramifications legally.

    You either need to speak to the office of the Data Protection Commissioner or post on the Ask AIB forum how you should proceed. AH really isn't the best place for this.
