What did you do to amuse yourself? Plenty of stuff on this particular good Friday and if 1916 isn't your thing it was a cracking day out.

    Nah. Just another normal day.

Although treating myself to a chicken curry which is on its way, and am about to search for a movie on Now tv - all good :D

Good friday was cat when I was a kid.

Only 3 meals. No meat. No sweets. Had to go to that 3pm service at church that went on for ages. Parents cant drink so are grumpy. It was a sh1t day.

But its grand now that I do whatever I want. Great day for a house party!

Do people generally still practice the 'no meat' rule these days?

I don't as although I was brought up a catholic I don't really believe in religion anymore, but am curious if no meat on good friday is generally adhered to quite the way it way it used to be.

3rd of April or 7 April depending on whether you work forwards or backwards apparently. Don't know if that's the Julian or the Gregorian calendar though. Or what year it was.

He died 2 weeks ago in the eastern orthodox church. But today in western church. Very confusing.

I'd say he lived until at least the early a.m. of the next day?... he was only nailed to the cross today. (not sure what time) What does the bible say.

I blame the Catholics and if I don't get Easter Monday off, I'll be raging ;)

Catholics won't oppress me and stop me celebrating Easter.

I'll wet myself laughing if it's a repeat of the episode where they show that Ireland is a third world country.

Let people have their excuses to have a day off. It is a pointless day to recognise but all the same everyone's in silent agreement it's a day off and that's grand, so enjoy it and do whatever it is you want to do.
