worried tenant

I could be overacting, but this is my first time renting with a landlord who is strict when something goes wrong.

To keep it short, if a landlord thinks that a particular room is never cleaned by a tenant who is known to only use it themselves, can that be enough to kick someone out or lose deposit? That is what my landlord thinks atm.
In my defence, I am a clean person, I do any chores that need doing, but I have a bad habit of neglecting chores to the weekend sometimes if I am staying late in college and don't be home much. I don't let it get totally disgusting, I just might not sweep or wipe surfaces or tidy objects until the weekend comes.
This doesn't happen all the time, only particular weeks if there are deadlines to be met. They have inspected the house twice when I was away at weekends, on those two times where the room in question wasn't up to a clean enough standard, they didn't let me know about anything 1st time, but now have let me know about it being the 2nd time, so it feels like I never got a chance to try and make it right since they never let me know how annoyed they were the 1st time around.

Having said that, I did apologize and said it won't happen again, which they seem to have accepted. But I am still a bit worried. They never made any threats, but can they still do something if they wanted to? I have a lease, but I am away from house for two weeks so it is still at the house and I haven't looked at it for ages to see what the rules were again.

Again, this is my very first time renting with a landlord who does things by the book, so excuse me if I sound naive and mollycoddled here. I was lucky in the past to rent with landlords who were very easy-going about nearly everything, but I think the downside to that is that it made me too relaxed about stuff like this happening.

    Mod Note
Your thread is more suited to the Accommodation and Property forum but as it's an anon post we cannot move it there for you.
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=38

Please log in and ask your question there with a registered account. The posters there will be more than happy to help you with your rights, particularly around these inspections which if you were not informed/agreed first maybe in breach of your tenancy rights. And if so they can better advise you as to consequences to your landlord...
