Anyone had gallbladder removed?

    Hi!
    So I was diagnosed 3 months ago with gallstones, have had zero word from hospital since diagnosis re:date of surgery/estimated waiting time/whether I'm even on their list! I have gathered from online searching that I could be waiting a long time to have it removed.
    I have a couple of questions...
    I have health insurance but I'm only partially covered for private and 'hi-tech' hospitals.
    Does anyone know how much gallbladder removal costs if not done public??
    Also if you've had it done privately how long were you waiting??
