My best guess is no. I've looked at getting that type before and they were about €900. I think you'll need a good mains pressure or you'll knacker the pump.

But hey I'm just some randomer on the internet ;)

Like the specs on this washer, it's a 150 bar which I believe is quite good. Anyone ever have any experience of these? Any comments appreciated.
The best washer ever to come out of any of the cheaper stores was the Lidl offering: Lavor 160 I think. Serious piece of kit. Had one for years. Replaced it with a very similar one to the OP - its a 150bar too; not quite as powerful as the Lavor, but plenty good for most domestic applications and have not had any issues in the 3yrs I've had it. Still works perfectly.

Check out Amazon - I think theres another thread for a washer on Amazon - apoarently u can get free delivery - but a 3yr warranty is hard 2beat.

Careful if using these to clean your car. 150bar can damage paint work and tyre side walls.

Most will once the container is higher and you prime the hose and pump first by siphoning you don't want to run the pump dry. You need to be sure the water is clean at 150bar any suspended dirt is like sand blasting.

I agree with you there, I have 2 of them, use it at least 2 times a week, accessories are a bit week like hose and wand, but the unit itself is great

This is the same price as the Karcher K2 (110bar) in woodies. Any idea which is a better buy for occassional use (car/patio)?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 889 ✭✭✭doctorchopper

Spec wise the aldi one is way better, higher kw but most important it has a lot higher flow rate for water. As well as 3 year warranty vs 2 year on karcher. Plus Karcher has gone way down in quality in the last few years. Spec wise the k4 would be more equal, but you'd be looking at 300 euro for that

Karcher has plastic pump and control head unless completely drained in winter any frost and it will split, yank the hose or knock it over it can crack.

The hoses are very weak on these all though I purchased a much dearer Nilfisk and it has the same flimsy hose. I got a local machinery outlet to make me a new one using Hydraulic stuff..

I bought a similar pressure washer from Aldi/Lidl a couple of years ago.
    A workzone HD 2012, 2.2Kw with 150bar pressure.
    Still going strong.

I just pressure washed the driveway last Friday with it and washed the decking a month ago with it. Happy enough with it.
Older Workzone model, but same basic specs.

They are loud when they're running, and it took me about 3 hours to wash the neglected driveway, practically washing each brick individually for 10-20 seconds or so. Just in case anyone thinks pressure washing is as easy as watering the grass!

Got one in Cashel (tipp) yesterday, had 6 left, works very well, plenty of power, had a kranzle cost €750, to be honest no difference in output, lower quality obviously, recommended, but early days

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,262 ✭✭✭OldRio

Purchased today. Power washed the decking. (Not been done in two years) No complaints.
Early days, but I've paid a damn site more in the past for less power.

Boards should have some sort of rental system on a power washer. Everybody chips in on a good one and if you need it, you book your time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 371 ✭✭mikehunts

Bought one of these as well just for cleaning paths and around the house, very pleased with the hose it is twice the size as the last one I had, so I did not have to keep moving it as much. Power was good as well, did a good job. No complaints here either.

Yeah I got one too with the patio cleaning attachment and very happy with it.

Seems a really good buy with a 3 year warranty

I had a Bosch unit I bought in December but I found swapping the long attachments ridiculously difficult to swap. Had to use two hands, grip with knees and even then if your hands were wet they would slide.

So I took it back to Argos on Monday and got a refund and bought this instead. Its way quieter, its smoother sounding and has a 10m hose which makes all the difference as I dont have to constantly go and drag the unit itself about to reach all the way around. It also means I can keep the unit in the garage and not worry about if it starts to rain and the unit getting wet. The nozzles swap so easily its a wonder I didnt throw the Bosch one into the field!

I was on the fence on this unit having had several budget power washers die on me over the years. Currently have a Nilfisk for 4 years and counting but it is down on power when I took it out this year.

Bought the last 1 of these in my local Aldi as I figured that for 100 and 3 years warranty it is a good option. After three years if it fails it will owe me nothing anyway.

Unboxed and tried last night. Initial view is very positive. Feels robust, Good on board storage and 10m hose, large wheels and hose reel is useful.

Very powerful and good spray pattern from the small bit of testing I did.

Overall great buy at the price and as mentioned with at least 3 years service guaranteed I think it is a great option if you need a Power Washer.

We bought one of these and spent the last couple of days cleaning a big deck and wooden path. Very pleased with it. Seems sturdy and very easy to use. I am not very familiar with these gadgets, but bought it jointly with a friend who has a lot of experience - he's very impressed. All gone in Wexford (beside Woodies) yesterday, but the Aldi up by the hospital is often a good place to pick up items sold out elsewhere.

We also bought the guard for a fiver - makes cleaning a deck much less tiring.

I bought the patio/wall cleaner attachment. Expensive at €20 I thoiught, but then it is miles better than the Bosch one which was not tall enough for me and I had to stoop all the time using it. The Aldi one is long and I can stand straight, the cleaner is wider requiring less time, and ....well yeah I love it.

    Folks,

I borrowed a Aldi Workzone high pressure washer 2200W (model Q1WSP091900) from a friend and managed to kink the 10m hose fairly badly. I have checked with Core Services and they have no spare hose parts in and don't know when they will receive them.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement hose for? Does karcher hoses work with Workzone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,808 ✭✭✭✭Water John

Get a hydraulic hosedoctor to crimp a joint on it is an option.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,868 ✭✭✭Ten Pin

Replace the hose with hydraulic hose and either get new fittings to match or reuse existing fittings if they're non standard. Any motor factors or agri spares shop should know who does this. Will cost about 25-30 euros and will last a lot longer than what's supplied from ALDI.

cheers, where would I find one of those guys?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 296 ✭✭goalie2

Sound Ten Pin, will have a look at that option.

They'd come under Plant Services. They mend the hoses on diggers etc.
Often mobile set up for site visits.
Agricultural garages might have the kit as well.

I'm almost certain they are €100. Found out yesterday that I can rent a petrol one on a Sat for €30 and get to keep it til Monday.

Hardly a bargain? I bought one 6 months ago and it's been used at least a dozen times since then to wash paths, walls, cars and the Tarmac driveway at my mothers house. They're a very very good washer and well worth €99.

Where did I say that €100 was a bargain? :)
€100 with a no quibble 3 year warranty is good value for money in my opinion.

Aldi customer services just phoned me to say they are €59 and that the store manager may reduce the price at his/her discretion.
Now at €59, that's a bargain. Again in my opinion.
