Hi. I need to replace the ECU in my Astra G 2001 (Z14XE engine) and I was wondering if there's much work involved. Will it need to be re-programmed?

Thanks, and will you please check the code, and if it's held on with 3 or 4 bolts?

What is wrong with the ecu that you need to replace it?

I'm guessing that it's the ECU, because it goes into "limp mode" intermittently.

I would doubt it is the ECU

What do you think it might be? I tried changing the throttle body and the accelerator pedal to no avail.

you more than likely need an ecu so check you fuel pump relay first to be sure that is not the problem but 9 times out of 10 it is the ecu.
