    Hi

Heading to athlone in 2 weeks on a hen night and we are looking for a pub with good atmosphere that does bar food. I have came across murphys law, gertie browns and Prince bar. Are any of these any good or is there anywhere else people would recommend?

Look at The Red Bank - excellent food and right beside Seans Bar - Oldest pub in Ireland. Both are in the old part of Athlone and its the better part.

Think that should be the left bank

Thanks guys. The left back seems to be a bistro. Was more hoping for a pub with bar food if there's one you would recommend cheers

Bar food in either the Prince or the Sheraton is very good and both hotels are in the centre of town.

Thanks a million. What's murphys law like as a pub? Would we be better off in the Prince Bar?

Murphys law is good and there are 3/4 good pubs (Seery's, Sean, the Snug and the Connaught Inn all within 5 min walk. The Prince is good it will reserve you a table and does offers for groups for cocktails.

No, it should be the Far Side.

No real Athlonian would ever use the ridiculous PR spiv manufactured name "Left Bank". :(

The Left Bank is on the right bank of the Shannon but none the worse for that.

It depends where you are located but for me it will always be the Connaught side.
