    Hi All,

What would a good financial amount be to spend on a decent 4k gaming machine?

suggestions welcome, also a spec of a machine would be great,

    Thanks,

Not as much as the last PC you came away with anyways :pac:

At the minute, about €1500 off the top of my head, but you're better off waiting for a few months for the next line of GPUs to be released, as they'll hopefully have a single card solution for 4k, which we don't have currently.

    For a general spec,
    i5 6500 €200
    Z170 board €120
    1tb HDD €50
    8gb RAM €40
    600w PSU €75
    Case €120
    240gb SSD €65
    Total €770

Then whatever a 4k capable GPU costs. Best current solution is a 980Ti, which is about €750

Ha, that was a long time ago. Times have changed.

    Thanks for the info,

It depends on the games you're playing.

LinusTechTips built a machine that can handle MOBAs and WoW at 4k60 for under $1000

I'd wait for the next gen of cpus and gpus that are on the horizon.

Something like an 8 core / 16 thread zen cpu and a 8gb high end polaris gpu.

I still wouldn't bother with 4k though. Get a 2560 x 1440 144/160hz monitor or a 3440x1440 100hz one. The higher refresh is just as important as the resolution. I couldn't go back to 60hz now. It's very noticeably worse even outside of gaming.
