Hakone - Accommodation advice

Hi, I'm planning a 9 day trip to Japan with my OH in May after Golden Week. This will be my second trip there so coming up with the itinerary has been pretty smooth so far.

My only confusion is accommodation in Hakone. We are planning to spend one night there. Has anyone on here been before and can recommend hotels or Ryokans? With or without Onsens.

Any tips on the best area to stay in Hakone would be great also.

Pretty decent location, near the train station which is handy if you want to visit the open air museum or whatever and beautiful sights all round. They do have an onsen but I didn't go in it. There was an outdoor bath in my room with the hot spring water however so I could still get the experience
