    Hey,
Bought a 2008 octavia 1.9tdi yesterday, today i noticed the fan runs constantly, once the ignition is turned on until the car is turned off....runs at full speed when the engine is cold?

Anybody ever see this before or know of a fix?

    Thanks in advance.

This is the fan inside car or the fan in engine bay?

I assume you mean engine bay fan.
Could be ECU issue. Do you have a code reader?

No. Dealership my arse, it's probably a five-dollar coolant temperature sensor.

Not necessarily. You'll need someone competent to diagnose it.

Possibility the temp sensor on the rad, that controls the fan, has been bypassed? Check wiring near rad, does it look original?

Dunno, had a old car,yrs ago, overheating, got a guy to wire up fan, with an on off button, anytime temp shot up,I turned on fan at full blast, until temp went down, looking back, twas mad,but desperate times /desperate measures, worked anyway

Coolant temperature sensor. It's a common failure on Octavia's. Happened to me. 15 euro for a new sensor and takes 5 minutes to replace.

this happened in an old car i had and it was the coolant temperature sensor even though the temperature gauge was working correct.

The temp gauge or "dash" sensor and the ECU sensor are often separate.
