    Hi
My modem keeps going off, the power light changes colour from green to orange and then to red. Its like the modem is resetting it self and this is happening all the time now making my bb nearly unuseable.

just wondering does anyone think the modem is fecked.

Is your modem a Huawei HG658c? I used to do tech support for Vodafone fixed-line and encountered this a couple of times. Try a hardware reset (this will restore SSID, security key, port-forwarding and so on to the factory default settings so you will need to re-configure everything if you have made any changes yourself) using the pinhole next to where the circular power lead comes in at the back. If that doesn't resolve the issue, phone them up and get a replacement sent out. Hope that helps

There's no configuring needed, it will work straight out of the box.

How long are you with them? I've the exact same problem, probably not as often as you, maybe a few times a day and mostly at night but it's ddamn annoying.

My modem is probably about 2 or 3 years old but it's happening from day 1.

It could be that your profile is set too high. Ring customer care.

    What does that mean?

Profile too high means that the speed is set higher than the line is capable of handling, it will always be dropping out.

Are you connected by ethernet cable or only using the wi-fi? In the latter case it may or may not be a line drop, you might want to try logging into the router (typing 192.168.1.1 into your browser address bar), going to the wi-fi settings and changing the channel to something else if it is set as "auto".

Is your router the older 556a type with the red symbols on the front?

scratch that. It was vodafone/vodafone which I couldn't find on a vodafone website.

Wifi was set to Auto so I changed it to channel 4 at random. Time will tell.

Wifi settings will make no difference to the connection syncing or not.

I'm aware of that alright. The reason I suggested it was to see if the issue was intermittent sync or simply wifi drops
