Ordering From UK Carphone Warehouse, Possible?

The U.K. Carphone warehouse have the LG G5 sim free in silver and it's the colour I want, which seems to be exclusive to them.

Is it possible to order it sim free off them and get it delivered here? I assume as its in the EU LG will cover the warranty anyway.

Has anyone done it recently? Wondering on issues like possibly needing a UK card address, etc.

Not sure about warranty although I dont forsee it being a problem should you send it back to them if needed.

As for getting it delivered, use Parcel Motel/Parcel Wizard ?

If going that route I'd personally go with Parcel Motel and increase the insurance amount to cover the cost of the phone should it happen to go missing. I'm not sure if Parcel Wizard offer that option? Also personally I find PM a slicker operation that inspires more confidence in their service. And no I'm not affiliated in any way except for using their service including getting sorted on a difficult warranty returns to Tesco UK.

Oh yes I'll def use Parcel Motel due to the address and insurance.

I'm just wondering if lads ever tried the same with the U.K. CW, half expecting it to be cancelled to my debit card having an Irish address or something.

Actually just looking there it's free delivery to UK Mainland only so I reckon PM is a no go :(

No chance of this going through with an Irish card. They really want the billing address to match the shipping address so unless your bank allows you to chance the billing address to PM , they won't take it.

Also CPW in the UK are terrible over the phone, when they cancelled my order with my Irish card I offered to use a relative UK card and get it shipped to them in London. They did not want to do that either because the order could not be changed, so their solution was to re-order but by then the phone was 100 GBP more expensive..told them they could keep it

Maybe a drive up north might be less hassle?
You could always try and phone a branch up there to see if they'll have one for you before travelling.

I wrote the below before realising there's a problem with Revolut cards today. Check the Bargain Alert thread to make sure the issue is resolved before using it if you decide to try it.

I've seen people on the Bargain forum talking about a new service called Revolut that allows you open an account and put money in, they'll then give you a mastercard number you can use in any shop or online. They'll send you a physical card or if you want it for online shopping it's all done via an app instead. In the app you can change the address your mastercard no. is regged too. People have successfully bought stuff from companies that insist on you having a UK regged card by changing the address in the app to parcel motel etc.
Thread on it here : http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057481488

Ok I'm trying to make this order now but when filling in delivery it won't take my phone number as valid I've tried the 087 method and tried the 353

Should I put parcel motels UK number or what?

Needs a UK number - I tried to order in the past and failed. Card address had to match delivery address and needed a UK number.

As biebiebie suggested, it might be less hassle to drive to Newry or Enniskillen

Had thought it was sorted by using the parcel motel phone number they provide to use but apparently I need a MOBILE number.

    Have given up now tbh.
