    Hi,

A helicopter flew over at about 14:30 today. Keshcarrigan/Carrick on Shannon area.

Looked like a Bell 47 type (the MASH helicopter), but could have been a Hughs 300 or Hillier UH12 type (or something else entirely). It was quite low, and that was the problem, only caught a glimpse before it disappeared behind trees, but it looked like a lovely machine. Anybody know what it was ??

Just curiosity ... no other issues with it.

He came back !! And this time I was ready for him.

It is indeed a Bell 47. G-AXKO. Beautiful machine.

Curious to know what the round blue piece is behind the cockpit and under the rotors.

I think he may be referring to the round blue tube just to the left of the pilots head in the image, just above the hanging headset?

Pure speculation on my part, could it be a cabin heater/canopy de-mister.

Has it as an air intake for the engine.
