Volvo V60 R Design Car Seats Ruined?- Advice Needed

I am looking for some advice here folks. I bought a car about 4 months ago and went working overseas a few days after and when I came back, I found the car seats like this. It is like they become damp due to condensation or a previous valet was too harsh and the dirt came back up through the seats over time. The white part is not leather as far as I can see, it looks like a synthetic leather lookalike.

I have searched the VOLVO forums, used baking soda, vinegar, leather cleaner etc but with no success. Does anybody know of any valeters in the midlands area or products that might help this. The stains are embedded and are not shifting.

I brought it to a leather specialist who could do anything. If it was real leather he would have dyed it for me.

Im absolutely raging as the car is immaculate otherwise and this has ruined the interior.

Ouch looks nasty. Have you tried steam cleaning perhaps?

Thanks man, gonna try that during the week. Other than that I'm looking in a breakers yard for replacement seats as im very particular about my car and this annoys me every day I get into it

If this discolouring is gone through the material so to speak, I guess you could get a severe surface cleaning and re colouring done?

Have you tried one of those 'oxy-action' type cleaners - have a look in the detergent section of the supermarket. Or smokers toothpaste. Another possibility might be that stuff you use for whitening canvas shoes but I suspect that is a surface thing that might come off on clothes.

Thanks for the input mick, was thinking of giving that a punt also. The leather specialist I went to said there was no guarantee a leather dye would take to this material, so is there other services out there I don't know about or anyone I could contact? I would have preferred it to be back in the first place anyway

I tried vanish and it wouldn't take to the material, the same with that runner polish. It's some sort of faux leather which makes it awkward to work with

If you are anywhere near Leixlip I would certainly have Brian to check it out

Thanks for all the assistance, just an update, low moisture steam cleaning didnt work so I talked to Brian in Spirit detailing and he pointed me towards fabricspray.co,uk and I ordered vinyl paint which he reckons is prob the next option. Failing that I am looking at reupholstering but the fabric paint looks like it could be promising

There's a guy here in Limerick who's the man to see. He will remove the seat covers and take out the discoloured sections and replace them. The guys a genius
Vitaly I think is his name. This is the last number I had for him. Let us know how you get on. Best of luck. 0862253434

Thanks very much, I was emailing someone in Limerick about this already. I'm going to try the vinyl spray first and see how it goes and take it from there
