Golden Maverick to baby lambs

    Hi Guys have twin lambs ere born paddies day not sure if there getting enough milk from ewe, have a bag of Golden Maverick ere would it be safe to give them some just for today till i get right replacer tomorrow..

    itd be better than nothing, but a colostrum supplement would be better

    or better again check with your neighbours

    Don't know about Maverick and ambs but cows milk has only half the fat of ewes milk, but if i had a milky ewe that had a single in the previous 48 hrs, I'd sometimes hold her and let hungry lambs suck her if i had ran out or couldn't be bothered thawing stuff

    If we were stuck we'd give the following to a lamb - tis a kinda home made colostrum mix I guess...

    1 quart cows milk
    1 beaten egg
    1 level tablespoon glucose
    1 teaspoon cod liver oil

    Would agree with rangler above tho - if you had any ewes lambed in the last day to two I'd say twould be better than anything bought it mixed up.
