    Hi all,
I was hoping to get a few kitchen manufacturer recommendations from those who have recently undergone a kitchen refurb.
I have absolutely no clue where to start or what kind of a budget to have.....please don't offer "how long is a piece of string"!!! The kitchen refurb forms part of a small kitchen extension.
Any advice, recommendations, stories gratefully received!

Where in the country are you? Your best bet is to go to as many show rooms as you can, to see way you actually want- it actually IS a question of how long a piece of string is- there's a range of finishes/quality etc laminate will be cheaper than solid wood, but won't last as long. Same with worktops- you can spend small money or big money.
I started by looking in cash and carry kitchens- it was good to see what was available in terms of "extras"- pull out racks, etc. I went in with my measurements and they did up a design. I went around a few smaller local operators subsequently, and found that they had more to offer in terms of value for money. They didn't have the same variety in their showrooms, but anything I wanted, they could do. So it helps to know exactly what you want before you go to the smaller guys!
I ended up getting a painted solid wood kitchen from a smaller local operator for a similar price to what c&c were quoting for laminate.
