This film has been released this week.
"...is about a Roman soldier's search for Jesus' body following the Resurrection." - wiki.

Has anyone seen it and worth going to?

Went to see. Overall I liked the film. The positives were the excellent performance by Joseph Fiennes (who played the Roman Tribune), the bleakly beautiful scenery and how the themes of death and belief intertwined with the Roman world view of the events of 33AD which acts as a bridge between ancient and modern. The negatives were the at times poorer performances by other cast (Pilate being the exception) and perhaps the uneven spacing of the film. I'd give it an 8/10.

Seeing it on Saturday with some people from church. Please don't spoil any significant details until viewings have stopped :)

Much thanks in the Lord Jesus Christ,

I'd like to get an idea of what people who have seen the film thought it, so there'll no doubt be spoilers in here for anyone who hasn't see it.

In particular, having seen the film, I thought the treatment at the end of the film, around Galilee, would cause some differing opinions.

    Thoughts?

    MOD NOTE

Threads merged as they both were asking people if they've seen the movie/what their thoughts were.

Amended title to warn that spoilers may be found in thread.

If you can read this, you're too close!

Easter in Jerusalem and it's aftermath, through the eyes of a cynical roman army officer. Small cast, done on a low budget, with some dud actors in the minor parts, and some scenes could have been done a lot better, but it covers other things well.
Overall not bad, and worth seeing, filmed not just for Christians.

Specifically what I was wondering, is how to do people feel about writers putting their own dialogue (non-biblical) into the mouth of Jesus?

I remember one BBC Easter drama a few years ago did something similar.
