lawn aerators

Have 3 patches of bad ground in my lawn. They are very compacted and I need to aerate them. They are not massive areas so a manual one that takes plugs out of the ground woukd do the job. Can't seem to find one tho. Anybody come across them lately?

Hire one in a machinery place. The ones in garden centre's are kinda crap. I bought a crap one and there's no comparison between the 2 of them.
