Sky+HD Box Issue

So in the last few days when I have turned on my Sky+HD Box it was just a solid blue screen. I found instructions to update the software and did so twice. Then today was watching a pre-recorded show from Friday and about 27 mins into the show it froze and none of the options on the remote worked then it went solid blue screen again. We are fairly new Sky subscribers and are finding this very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

Check the HDMI leads are securely connected to the TV and Sky box.

    How will that help?

Nope, not the issue. Did that both times.

Blue screen would indicate loss of communication from tv to box. If satellite connection was down the EPG and menus would still be visible.

Is it only happening when watching pre recorded programs or does it happen on live TV too?

Satellite signal was at 90% one time and 100% the second time. Didn't check this time as I was too frustrated.

It happened twice when I just turned it on. Once while watching the show.

Not always the case with sky HD boxes that could have an inherent fault.
Psu issues, faulty hard drives etc.. are known to present a blue screen and freezing of the display.
