Hello everyone - I dont know if this is the right place for this thread, please move if it should belong somewhere else.

i'm going to start off by saying i am not a very techy person, so if you are going to answer, please, in simple language! :(

I am trying to back up everything that is currently on my Toshiba Sat Pro laptop, and do a factory reset, and put the more important stuff back on.

All my documents, pictures and music are gone off it onto a hard disk, just the programs have to go, and I dont know how to!

if I do a "System back up and restore", does the current system & downloaded programs (microsoft office, anti virus, adobe, Ccleaner, sketch-up, autoCAD, firefox, etc) get copied too, and will I have access to them and will the current settings be still there when I restore them after a factory reset??

I really don't want to redownload everything and copy all the bookmarks into a word file to save them and re-download "block cookies and tracking" add-ons in internet programs... i'll be here until 2050! ) :

plus I dont have unlimited internet to re-download everything - I only have 1gb left on my internet.

    Thank you!

Programs don't get backed up , because you should have the original media / online accounts to install from

All setting will go when you do a factory reset, which is kinda the point of them.

1GB won't last long if you start patching, you'll need to visit someone with broadband.

Applications will be difficult as Capt'n Midnight said but if you are looking to grab bookmarks and other profile specific information, you should take a look at Transwiz. I use it the whole time.

Just a quick question, and to be a bit nosey, is reason you're doing a restore?

I saw you use ccleaner, is there any maintenance you can do to speed it up by removing programs, scanning/removing temporary files and using the registry cleaner in that.

As mentioned, if you do a factory reset it will go back to the first day you got the machine and you will have to add pretty much all the programs you listed... as well as settings.

In FF you can backup your profile and restore that: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
