Burger king has been given permission to sell booze alongside its traditional fast food menu in the UK for the first time.

The restaurant chain's branch in Waterloo Station has been given the thumbs up by Lambeth Council to begin selling alcoholic beverages.

There are a few rules that the store must abide by, however.

Beer - the only alcoholic beverage that will be sold - will be served only from 11am until 8pm.and it must not be over 5% proof

When granting the licence, Lambeth Council imposed extra rules including better staff training, increased record keeping, better CCTV, and increased management supervision.

However the fast food chain hopes the London restaurant will be just the first in the country to be allowed to sell booze

It should be only a matter of time before it is attempted here, How do you think that will work out knowing our sometimes well documented sad relationship with alcohol ?

Can i have a whopper and two pints please, ah wait make it three pints and forget about the whopper ...

Its quite common in Portugal and Spain to sell alcohol nearly anywhere including motorway garages ,just saying.

I had to laugh at the caps in the headline. Tabloids.

They sell alcohol in the Burger King at Dublin Airport. Only Budweiser though. Yuck.

    Burger King is gack.

And you can get beer in a pub or most shops.

So, still no reason to go there.

Not even sure why I'm bothering to type this.

It would be handy grabbing a nice frosty one in the drive thru for the journey home.

Yep , that's where the pilots grab their last pint before their flights.

They sell beer here but I never get one. Beer is not included as part of a menu plus it's fast food, you want to get in and out as quick as you can. It's not exactly a cosy environment for enjoying a beer in comparison to going to a cafe and having a beer.

You can buy a pint at the counter in burger king at the Airport.

If you've a flight to Ansterdam they'll also sell you proper cookies.

    True story Bro!
