Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Conrad was an awful writer. Far too descriptive at the expense of plot. Why use a hundred words when ten words will do? Even though Heart of Darkness is a novella, at times it felt like I was wading through Proust.

I read Heart of Darkness and thought it was okay but not earth shattering. Nostromo was recommended by some critics as his best book so I am giving it a whirl. To be honest I'm getting the same feeling from it as I did from "Love in a time of Cholera" a book I really love. About 15% into it (according to Kindle!) and enjoying it.
    I'll let you know!?
