I want it give someone, who only uses Mac, a video file saved in AVI format.

Is this ok? Will they be able to view it without a problem?

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply.

So, let me phrase the question in another way.: I'm a stills photographer by trade. I give clients both TIFF and JPEG files.

What I'd like to know is this: what is the video equivalent of the 16bit TIFF file? I.e. Universally readable/viewable, and of the best possible quality?

    Thanks again.
