    Hi all,

Just moved to Athlone and am looking to start driving lessons. Can anyone recommend a good instructor with lots of patience? Thanks in advance :)

One thing I don't like is advertising a particular business when there are plenty others, but of you're looking for someone with endless patience, then I would recommend Chris. http://www.lplate.ie/ I've learned with a few instructors in town, but he would be my recommendation above anyone else. I'm sure others would have other suggestions.

Fergie gets alot of compliments on these pages. I don't agree with them, found him quite impatient. Spent most of lesson talking blarney and finished early. I recommend avoiding him if you don't want to be given "the look" when you fail to hit the biting point correctly.

Moved to Auburn and got on good, although took more lessons. Recommend him if your taking it handy pacewise.

I think that's Chris. You could run his family over and he still wouldn't lose the rag with you. Very nice man to learn with.

Japers thats an odd one. He had the patience of a saint with me. 2 left feet and terrified to turn the key at the start so he took time and I gpt my test after a handful of lessons!
Talked a lot but that actually put me at my ease as we were chatting away and then he'd drop an instruction or 2 in mid conversation.

Different strokes for different folks I guess
